Bulk Electric System Reliability
APPA advocates on behalf of its members in the development and enforcement of NERC Reliability Standards. There are three main areas where comments are filed in the standard development process; comments to the NERC Standard Drafting Team during development, comments to FERC during Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NOPR) on NERC Standards, and occasionally request for Clarification or Rehearing of a FERC Final Rule.

Distribution System Reliability
APPA’s 2015 Distribution System Reliability and Operations Survey has closed, and you can view an analysis of the responses using the link below. The survey questions are created with the intention of evaluating how public power systems provide service to their end-use customers. The resulting report provides knowledge on industry-wide practices and aspires to deliver useful figures describing other utilities methods and philosophies in many areas of utility operations. We thank those who participated in this year’s survey. The more participants, the more practical and robust our analysis will be. Please note that this is a biennial survey and will next be distributed in 2017.

The latest version of APPA's reliability software (eReliability Tracker) is finally here.
