Webinar Description
On April 25, 2024, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued the final Carbon Pollution Standards for greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) from the electric power sector — the rule package addresses reducing carbon dioxide emissions from coal-fired power plants and new gas-fired generation.
APPA will host a free webinar for regular members, joint action agencies, and state associations to discuss the major features of the final rules, such as the emission control technology selected as the best system of emission reduction, performance standards, compliance timelines, state plans, and reliability mechanisms in the rule. We will also discuss the rule's implications for public power utilities as they evaluate resource adequacy during the transition to lower and non-emitting generation resources.
Before the webinar, members are encouraged to email Policy@PublicPower.org with any questions on the final Carbon Pollution Standards so they may be addressed during the discussion.
