HISTORY
Commonwealth is proud of its deep roots dating back to 1888 as innovators in the electric power industry. It started with two pioneering brothers from Michigan with an interest in arc lighting and the transmission of electricity generated by hydro power, and eventually became part of the behemoth known as Commonwealth & Southern Corporation. Commonwealth Associates was reestablished as a employee-owned engineering and consulting firm in 1988. Thirty years later, Commonwealth's staff of approximately 270 professionals represents one of the most skilled, experienced technical resources available to analyze, plan, design, and construct electrical power projects.
