Additional mutual aid crews arrived on Saturday in Tallahassee, Fla., adding an additional 100 crew members to the city's restoration efforts to rebuild after experiencing unprecedented damage to the City's electric system in the wake of an extreme storm that hit the city on May 10.
Approximately 300 mutual aid personnel were working alongside city crews as of Sunday morning additional crews have continued to arrive throughout the day, the Florida Municipal Electric Association reported on May 12.
Reports of extensive damage caused by the tornadoes in Tallahassee's service territory have increased, FMEA reported.
The broken utility pole count as of Sunday was at 399 confirmed along with 91 damaged transformers, numbers which exceed Hurricanes Hermine, Irma, and Michael combined.
Circuits in the path of the tornadoes are being fully rebuilt.
Progress was made overnight and throughout today on power restoration, and crews have cleared over 300 blocked roads, FMEA said on May 12.
