TVA Seeks Proposals for Firm Capacity Between 50 MW to 1,000 MW

The Tennessee Valley Authority on April 21 released a request for proposals for firm capacity between 50 to 1,000 megawatts.

Interested parties with dispatchable power such as natural gas, nuclear, hydro or coal generation can review the request at TVA’s website Doing Business With TVA.

Electricity must be delivered to TVA’s service area between Oct.  2025 and Dec. 2030.

Respondents must submit a proposal by May 21, 2025.

The RFP augments “TVA’s significant new generation investments in its power system,” it noted.
TVA's current planning assumption includes building about 6,300 MW of new firm, dispatchable generation by 2029, including 3,050 MW under construction.
