The American Public Power Association is accepting nominations now through Wednesday, November 15, 2023, for the Reliability and Safety Representatives on the Reliable Public Power Provider Program Review Panel.
The RP3 program is public power’s leading practices evaluation and review for utilities based on four criteria – reliability, safety, work force development, and system improvement.
The RP3 Review Panel guides APPA staff in implementation of the RP3 program and provides expert peer review of public power utilities’ applications for RP3 recognition.
Position requirements are as follows:
Reliability Representative – APPA member (any size utility) with a deep understanding of reliability at public power utilities. Familiarity with reliability indices, mutual aid programs, disaster plans, and physical and cyber security is required.
Safety Representative – APPA member (any size utility) with a deep understanding of safety at public power utilities. Familiarity with the utility-wide safety programs, disaster drills, safety manuals, and safety benchmarking is required.
Each member of the panel can serve for up to three two-year terms (for a total of six years), and is expected to attend three meetings per year, one in the spring and two in the winter. The appointed members’ first term will begin immediately and expire after two years in 2025.
