APPA Urges Members to Sign Letter to Congress in Support of LIHEAP

The American Public Power Association is asking its members to join APPA in signing the National Energy and Utility Affordability Coalition annual letter in support of Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program funding.

The letter is circulated annually and has had more than 1,000 organizations join in the past. APPA, which is a member of the NEUAC board and a strong supporter of LIHEAP, is urging public power utilities whose customers make use of LIHEAP to consider signing the letter this year.

LIHEAP provides bill assistance to eligible households, weatherization assistance, and helps protect families in their homes by maintaining access to life-critical energy.

The letter can be signed electronically on the coalition’s website.
