California community choice aggregator MCE on March 4 launched an Open Season request for offers that seeks renewable energy resources including those with energy storage.
Offers for renewable energy resources must be connected to the California Independent System Operator grid and include Resource Adequacy projects that will provide additional energy to the grid in cases of extremely high demand.
MCE is also seeking energy paired with energy storage and will not accept any offers of stand-alone solar. Energy storage of any technology type will be considered along with four-hour and long-duration resources.
Offers will be accepted between March 4 and March 22, 2024.
Offers will be evaluated and shortlisted on a rolling basis and instructions and documents are available at mceCleanEnergy.org/energy-procurement.
The American Public Power Association has initiated a new category of membership for community choice aggregation programs.
