Developer Proposes Natural Gas Plant to Serve Data Center in Ohio

A company called PowerConneX, Inc. recently outlined plans to develop a natural gas-fired power plant to serve a data center in Ohio.

The proposed PowerConneX New Albany Energy Center project is a natural gas fired power generation facility located in New Albany, Licking County.

The facility would be sited on approximately 48.6 acres and have a maximum total generating capacity of up to 120 megawatts.

The purpose of the facility is to provide power using natural gas-fired equipment that will serve as a primary source of electricity to a data center on the same site, according to details posted on the Ohio Power Siting Board website.
