Idaho Falls Officials Tour Idaho Falls Power Peaking Plant Site

City of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Idaho, council members, Mayor Rebecca Noah Casper and other members of city staff recently had the opportunity to tour an Idaho Falls Power Peaking Plant site with Idaho Falls Power employees to see the latest progress.

Several key milestones have been reached thus far. Among other things -- The generation building is now fully enclosed, a storage building is complete and already in use for Idaho Falls Power equipment and eight generator pads have been poured and placed inside the building.

The 17.5 MW natural gas peaking plant and clean energy research park is being built on a 130-acre piece of land.

The power plant will provide on-demand energy at times when summer and winter energy usage are at their highest.
