KUA President and GM Elected Secretary/Treasurer of the Florida Reliability Coordinating Council

At their annual meeting, members of the Florida Reliability Coordinating Council elected Brian Horton, Kissimmee Utility Authority’s President and General Manager, as secretary/treasurer of the organization’s Board of Directors.

The FRCC is comprised of top-level executive members elected within six sectors and directed by a stakeholder Board of Directors. The council’s mission is to coordinate a safe, reliable, and secure bulk power system in Florida.

“I am honored to be a part of this council and look forward to ensuring the reliability and security of Florida’s bulk power system,” said Horton. “I am confident that our board will continue to take the necessary steps to strengthen grid resiliency and support the future growth of energy infrastructure across the state.”

Horton has been CEO of Florida public power utility KUA since April 2019. Horton has more than 20 years of engineering, operations and regulatory experience within the electric utility industry.
