The Nebraska Public Power District on July 12 reported that it sent a 24-member crew to provide mutual aid to Omaha Public Power District to assist with power restoration efforts in the wake of severe weather that hit OPPD”s service territory.
The NPPD crew includes technicians from Aurora, Creighton, Norfolk, Kearney, Plattsmouth, South Sioux City, and York.
The storm system hit the OPPD service territory on July 12, knocking power out to more than 33,554 customers.
On July 13, OPPD reported that nearly all the customers who lost power during the powerful Wednesday morning storm had been restored.
