OPPD Working with County Officials on Possible 310-MW Solar Development

Omaha Public Power District on Aug. 8 said it is working with county officials on a potential 310-megawatt solar development located in York County, Neb.

The public power utility has acquired rights to the potential project from EDF Renewables.

The acquisition allows Nebraska-based OPPD to conduct a deeper study on the viability of the site.

The utility said it “will be having conversations with the community while conducting technical analysis to determine alignment with its mission of providing affordable, reliable, environmentally friendly energy services.”

This evaluation will include the practicality of working with other parties to build and maintain the project.
