Greenville, Texas public power utility GEUS has officially initiated a request for proposal process to explore additional electrical generation options, it said on Dec. 18.
“The provision of reliable and competitively priced power has long been at the core of GEUS' mission, with a proud history of serving the community since 1891,” it noted.
“Against the backdrop of unprecedented population growth in the region, GEUS is committed to maintaining its legacy of locally owned generation and steadfast power supply,” the utility said.
Having embarked on the strategic planning for future generation in 2019, the issuance of the RFP “marks a pivotal milestone in this forward-looking process,” it noted.
"GEUS is honored to take this step, ensuring we have the necessary information to make well-informed decisions for the future of our community’s electric utility," said Alicia Hooks, GEUS General Manager.
