The lack of interoperability in EV charging networks inhibits the ability of electric utilities to manage public charging infrastructure securely, cost-effectively, and reliably, while also planning for future public charging growth.
This white paper -- produced by the Electric Power Research Institute in collaboration with the American Public Power Association, the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, Edison Electric Institute, and the Alliance for Transportation Electrification -- walks through the challenges associated with electric vehicle charging interoperability and offers recommendations for how utilities and other industry players can address these challenges.
