Reliability
Much of North America, particularly the eastern two-thirds of the continent, are at elevated risk of having insufficient energy supplies to meet demand in extreme operating conditions this winter, according to the North American Electric Reliability Corp.

San Antonio, Texas public power utility CPS Energy recently joined with the Public Utility Commission of Texas to provide leaders from San Antonio and Bexar County, Texas, a tour of CPS Energy and City of San Antonio emergency facilities.
Reliability
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the North American Electric Reliability Corporation on Nov. 7 released a final report on Winter Storm Elliott, the Christmas 2022 storm that contributed to power outages for millions of electricity customers in the Eastern half of the country.
Electricity Markets
Voters in Maine on Nov. 7 rejected a ballot proposal that would have replaced investor-owned utilities in Maine with a statewide, consumer-owned utility called Pine Tree Power.
Energy Storage
Delorean Power LLC and Massachusetts public power utility Groton Electric Light Department on Nov. 8 unveiled two battery energy storage facilities. One project will be located at a GELD substation, while the other one will be located on the grounds of the town’s newly constructed elementary school.
