Santee Cooper has strengthened its generation management team with the recent appointments of Darla Barnette as Manager of Renewable Generation and Ged Moree as Manager of Winyah Generating Station. Both appointments took effect Sept. 28.

The U.S. Department of Energy has approved the Grand Island Utilities Department for an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant totaling $116,440. The funds will be used to cover the cost of a five-year plan for both the software and equipment modules needed to monitor a solar field.
