Disaster Response and Mutual Aid
Omaha Public Power District’s 17-person mutual aid team headed back from Illinois on July 20 after assisting with power restoration from Des Moines to Davenport, Iowa and New Lenox to Homewood, Illinois.

Platte River Power Authority on July 17 presented the results from two years of technical studies and reports, energy mix modeling and public engagements and presentations showcasing the utility’s path to a noncarbon future.

The U.S. Department of Energy on July 16 unveiled a document that outlines a shared vision for vehicle-grid integration, “where electric vehicles are safely and securely connected to, reliably served by, and harmonized with the electric grid,” DOE said.

Generation
The Alliance for Renewable Clean Hydrogen Energy Systems and the U.S. Department of Energy on July 17 announced the signing of a $12.6 billion agreement, including up to $1.2 billion from the DOE and $11.4 billion in public and private matching funds, to build and expand clean energy infrastructure across California.
Energy Storage
Arizona public power utility Salt River Project and Aypa Power on July 18 announced that they have entered into an agreement to provide 250 megawatts/1,000 megawatt-hours of new energy storage to the Arizona grid.
