Bills and Rates
Orlando, Fla.-based public power utility OUC has been authorized by its Board of Commissioners to move forward with a multiyear plan “to empower customers with new opportunities to save money, better align costs with how electricity is used, and optimize OUC’s reliable, affordable, and sustainable power grid,” the utility said on Dec. 11

Reliability
The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority Governing Board on Dec. 12 approved a $1.52 million expenditure for the replacement of a transformer at the Richmond Power Plant on St. Croix.
Disaster Response and Mutual Aid
The Federal Emergency Management Agency will be sending more than $1.8 million to the State of Vermont to reimburse the Burlington Electric Department for recovery work for damage caused by the severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides that took place in July 2023.
Electric Vehicles
The U.S. Department of Energy’s Loan Programs Office announced on Dec. 12 the closing of a $1.25 billion loan guarantee ($1.05 billion of principal and $193 million of capitalized interest) to EVgo Swift Borrower LLC to expand public electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
